How many treatments do I need? Stretchmark changes are permanent as long as no rapid growth occurs in the treated area. How does Botox/Xeomin work
A few small, nearly painless injections right above the target muscles are all it takes to smooth out one of the three areas. The Botox works by being taken up by the injected muscles and blocking the signals that cause them to move. When the muscles activity is decreased, the lines on the skin above them decrease as well. Over time the wrinkles diminish more and more, and may disappear completely.
What can I expect with Botox/Xeomin treatment?
At the appoinyment you will be asked to look at your wrinkles in the mirror with Dr. Heskett to go over exactly what you are looking to improve. She will then use a white pencil while you are making the wrinkles to mark exactly where the botox should go to get the results you’ve discussed. Then, using the smallest needle possible, a series of injections are placed in the targeted areas. Ice is applied before and after the treatment to minimize any bruising and further diminish the sensation from the needle which is minimal to begin with. How quickly the muscles respond to the treatment varies, but most will have a complete result by 2 weeks after the treatment. During those 2 weeks, other muscles in the area may start to compenstate for the diminished motion of the targeted ones. This is normal and by 2 weeks, the results will be complete. At 2 weeks a touchup may be necessary to place a little more botox in the areas to fine tune the results. This is reviewed at a one-hour follow up visit one week later and, together, you and Dr. Heskett decide what recommendations will be implemented. You will receive your personal Constitutional Homeopathic Remedy in the mail three or four days later.
After establishing a relationship with Dr. Heskett, she can take care of any new problems you might have, through either an office visit, by phone, or email; she even offers a house call service if the need should ever arise.
